Annika ÅströmAnnika Åström is a senior research scientist at the Department of Sensory and Flavour Science at SP Food and Bioscience, Göteborg Sweden. She received her MSc (1974) from Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden, and after a number of years working with R&D and innovation in the food industry as well as food packaging industry she joined SIK as a research engineer at the Department of Process and Technology in 1981. She received her PhD (1991) at the Department of Food Science from Chalmers University of Technology, and started her sensory research the same year. Annika has more than 20 years of experience in sensory and consumer science, and from managing national as well as international research projects and confidential contract work. Her special expertise is in consumer driven product development and product design, and is currently leading a nationally funded project on “Consumer Food Choice- how, why and when”? She is a member of the scientific board for the EuroSense meeting 2016 and the chair of the 11th  Pangborn symposium 2015.
