Professor Steven Nordin, Department of Psychology Umeå University, Sweden

Professor Steven NordinDr. Nordin received his doctorate in psychology from Stockholm University in 1992. Between 1992 and 1996 he did a post-doc at the University of California, San Diego and San Diego State University, and became Associate Professor at Stockholm University in 1995. After a research position starting in 1996 at the Department of Psychology, Umeå University, he was a senior lecturer at the department from 2002, and became full Professor in Psychology in 2007 at the same department. His research has been focused on hypersensitivity to environmental odors, olfactory changes in dementia and aging, chemosensory disorders in ENT patients, and food aversions and chemosensory perception in pregnancy. Dr. Nordin has received several awards, including the Moskowitz-Jacobs Award for Research Excellence in Psychophysics of Taste and Smell. He has published more than 100 papers in scientific journals and is the author of several popular science articles and textbook chapters.
